Agree with your observations. People with technical librarian/information science skills in their professional and academic background are great for this - I have an MLIS (masters in library and information science) and the training in cataloging, metadata schema, taxonomy construction, basic database concepts, has helped me serve this function over the years. I encourage anyone who has a background in librarianship (or who serves a hiring function and gets resumes from folks with this in their background) to also consider how this skillset can suit.

That's really interesting, I had no idea. Thanks Becky for sharing your thoughts. If you'd ever like to be on the show, please do let me know!

I like the idea of that! Your kind offer has inspired an idea - I first want to check in with some members of my LIS community to do a bit more formal research so that if I do this, I can come to it and supplement with specifics where I won't just be speaking off the cuff. (Ok the tl;dr is actually that I've never been on a podcast and don't want to be rambly...) Will get back to you and am appreciative.

Sounds great Becky and the podcast is not streamed live so don't worry about it! Looking forward! 🙂
