Hey friend, I’ve been meaning to write to you for a while…
My life has completely changed since I last wrote to you in Feb. I’ve never been busier and therefore, haven’t been able to allocate any time to focused writing.
I’m now trying to change that.
Consider this a letter from a friend who wants to share something amazing that happened recently, hoping that you feel happy for them. This idea came to me just a couple days ago when my wife sent me this bit on friendship from Simon Sinek.
It resonated hard.
If you’ve been a long-time subscriber…
You probably know that databeats has evolved constantly over the last few years.
With everything changing so rapidly, I believe, to stay relevant, we must reinvent.
I did that last March after I concluded writing my first book. And I intend to keep at it as the rate of change – in tech and in general – continues to accelerate.
I’m unsure of where I’m going with this newsletter…
But I have some ideas.
I’m leaning towards turning this newsletter into an ongoing conversation about the big things happening inside my little nested bubble of data/AI/GTM/growth.
Another idea is to expand the scope to the larger tech bubble:
Then there’s an idea to live inside the interface of a “double bubble”:
And finally, a “triple bubble” idea as well, which I hope to pursue someday but under a different name:
Only time will tell…
This is all an outcome of a life-changing experience…
Which took place on the evening of March 10.
I had just finished dinner and was browsing through emails when one caught my attention. I didn’t think it was a personalized email; I was wrong.
I’ve had my fair share of both good and bad experiences, but this was a completely new feeling – one where part of you knows that you deserve something good, but least expect it, and then just like that, it happens.
The cash prize is life-changing – it absolutely is.
The opportunity to travel to SF to meet the Perplexity team and their brilliant CEO?
Priceless.
To top it off, this trip to the US (my third) turned out to be the best, by far, in every respect. I finally met a couple of folks from the community IRL including my good friend Robbie:
Wait, there’s more to tell…
Have you read the databeats story?
Just this bit below will give you all the context you need:
I’m sharing this now because…
Same mission – new destination.
I’ve come full circle.
It started with me, a non-engineer, falling in love with Integromat (now Make), becoming an automation pro, joining the team and helping it grow (organically via education and community), then going deeeep into data and doing a dozen things in the space for 5 long years, and now, finally leveraging all of those experiences to do what I live/love to do – at a much, much bigger scale – at Clay:
Help non-engineers drive growth via data-powered workflows built without code.
Check out the Clay cohorts program if you’re keen to master Clay the fastest way!
Well, that’s everything I wanted to share with you friend.
Hope you’re happy for me and I hope that soon something amazing happens to you too!
I’ll wait to hear from you…
