A Data-Adjacent Superhero?🦸♂️
Hey again!
Today, I'd like to dive a little deeper into the hiring problem we see in the industry. In today's rapidly evolving landscape, establishing a robust data stack and fostering a data-driven culture has become crucial for staying competitive. 💪🏽
However, hiring the right technical talent for these roles has become challenging due to high demand, competition, and role ambiguity. Many companies expect a single "data scientist" to solve all their data-related problems.
But that shouldn't be the case. A successful data stack implementation requires the inclusion of semi-technical data talent who can bridge the gap between technical data teams and the rest of the organization. They facilitate collaboration and understanding between go-to-market (GTM) teams and data teams, helping them align their goals and workflows. 🫱🏽🫲🏽
Now, to be honest, semi-technical data talent is hard to find. That being said, this situation creates a unique opportunity for organizations to foster data literacy among folks from data-adjacent teams such as Growth and Marketing. Given the right resources, these individuals can become data-savvy and collaborate effectively with their data counterparts, ultimately translating data into measurable growth for the organization.
Would you believe Arpit was one of the GTM folks who set up the customer data infrastructure and is now creating databeats to beat the gap between data and non-data people? 👀
The point I'm trying to make is that you, just like me, don't need a background in data to learn all about it! To kick things off, check out some of our content on our website. And if you're not sure where to begin, I recommend starting with Culture and Collaboration.
